Experts: Russian govt’s spending on software rises 15% in 2022

MOSCOW, Mar 2 (PRIME) -- Russia’s government spending on purchases of software increased by 15% in 2022 to 58.3 billion rubles and the number of such deals rose by 7.8%, according to a research by service Kontur.Torgi seen by PRIME on Thursday.

“The growth in the sum and the number of software purchases in 2022 points to a rise of importance of this industry for the government,” Kontur.Torgi expert Vasily Danilchik said.

The number of tenders for software, including delivery, maintenance, and support of services and programs, rose by 7.8% to 29,674 in 2022.

The number of failed deals increased by 21% to 1.498, which shows that import replacement of Web services and programs is not smooth.

“It is more difficult for the customers to find suppliers of high-technological products, because it takes more time to create national services from scratch,” Danilchik said.
